Recently, I was replacing some parts on a build I have that consisted of a VLTOR MUR upper receiver, a Ballistic Advantage 12.3†Hanson barrel and a 10.5†BCM MCMR handguard. While I do like the MCMR, I’m not a fan of the anti rotation tabs and how they often scratch the upper receiver. Besides, I wanted a handguard that covered more of the barrel, giving me more real estate to hold and put attachments onto. After a very long and in depth search, I located the Midwest Industries 11.5†Combat handguard. I ordered, received it very quickly and swapped out the MCMR (which I used on an 11.5†barrel build) and was immediately impressed by the fit, feel and finish. The built in QD sling mounts are a huge plus also. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding. The install was very easy and so much better than the MCMR that it replaced. My Midwest Industries fixed sights mounted right on and I can’t wait to get this to the range for some endurance testing.
