I have heard great reviews on criterion barrels on YouTube and forums online. I was trying to put a lightweight “special purpose rifle†theme AR-15 with an 18†barrel that wouldn’t break the bank yet be accurate enough for the $$. I ended up purchasing this criterion 18†lightweight “tapered†profile barrel that distributes the weight where it matters the most, and I had gunsmith assembled the upper receiver. With a 2.5-10x scope along with some match grade ammo (69gr HPBT, 77gr HPBT), this SPR shoots well into 1MOA on its 1st outing! This may be an affordable barrel for a budget precision semi auto rifle, but it’s definitely a high quality product that exceeds its price point. Can’t wait to take it out to extended ranges! I would prefer a nitrited barrel over Chrome lined because of the inherent increase in accuracy, however, the way this barrel shoots, I’m glad this chrome barrel is in my SPR!
