5 of 5 Great barrel July 22, 2020
Reviewer: John M. from N E Colorado
Just got home from first outing at range with new build using this barrel. Used a Leupold 1.5-4 scope to get 100 yard slow fire groups of 2 3/4"- 3 1/2" 5 shot groups with Tulammo 55 grn., 1 1/2" to slightly over 2 1/2" 5 shot groups with Armscor 55 grn., 10 shot groups (2) of right at 1" with Hornady Frontier 55 grn., (2) 10 shot groups of slightly over 2 1/2" with Federal red box 55 grn., then a  5 shot group of approximately 3/4" with Federal Fusion 62 grn.. As this was just initial test firing and sight in I didn't take micrometer to precisely measure groups, but used tape measure. Now wish I had taken some match ammo as so far it outshoots my heavy barreled 20" SPR. Did not see groups open up when barrel heated as my pencil barreled lightweight build does, but didn't do mag dumps either. Very happy with purchase!

5 of 5 Excellent Barrel for lightweight SPR December 27, 2019
Reviewer: JoE Quin from GA United States
I have heard great reviews on criterion barrels on YouTube and forums online. I was trying to put a lightweight “special purpose rifle” theme AR-15 with an 18” barrel that wouldn’t break the bank yet be accurate enough for the $$.  I ended up purchasing this criterion 18” lightweight “tapered” profile barrel that distributes the weight where it matters the most, and I had gunsmith assembled the upper receiver. With a 2.5-10x scope along with some match grade ammo (69gr HPBT, 77gr HPBT), this SPR shoots well into 1MOA on its 1st outing! This may be an affordable barrel for a budget precision semi auto rifle, but it’s definitely a high quality product that exceeds its price point.  Can’t wait to take it out to extended ranges!  I would prefer  a nitrited barrel over Chrome lined because of the inherent increase in accuracy, however, the way this barrel shoots, I’m glad this chrome barrel is in my SPR!
