Additional Installation Tips & Instructions
We have found during dozens of installations that there are variations in the Ruger® firearms. These variations will in no way effect the function or performance of the Ruger® PC9 carbine. Please remember this firearm is a takedown model so perfect alignment may not always be achieved. We have found for best alignment, start by aligning the MI handguard with the top edges of the factory plastic stock. This may take a few attempts and some patience but will produce a very satisfactory result. We have also noticed some variations in the rear sights of these rifles. They are sometimes not installed perfectly straight to the bore. This can be corrected by removing the peep sight portion and straightening out the base. Some rifles will also show a left or right cant with the whole barrel assembly when locked into place. You can see this by looking from the rear of the gun and using the top rail as a reference surface. Neither the function of our handguard or the guns performance will be effected by these slight alignment variations of the factory manufactured firearms. On a final note if after installing the handguard on your firearms you still have any play please check that the tension adjustment ring is properly adjusted on your rifle. Additional information and photos can be found on our website.

5 of 5 BETTER THAN FACTORY April 30, 2021
Reviewer: Naked Truth from The newly formed Peoples Republik of the USA
I recently purchased this combo for my Plain Jane PC Carbine and I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is excellent, and the ergonomics are vastly improved. I recently checked out a factory free floating hand guard model at a local gun shop because I had read that the Midwest version was superior. I can emphatically tell you this is the case. The factory version doesn't have as good a feel in the hand and it's vent holes have sharp edges. You're better off buying the standard model and upgrading to the Midwest handguard because the cost is about the same as buying the factory version of the same. Also, the butt plate extension is a vast improvement over the plastic factory version and, since the Midwest charging handle made the MCarbo version I had previously installed look cartoonish in comparison, I replaced it too. It was shipped promptly and was received in a few days. Since this combo qualifies for free shipping it is a significant savings over purchasing the items separately.

5 of 5 The Ideal Upgrade starter kit for your PC-9 March 18, 2021
Reviewer: Bluesman from Williamsfield, OH United States
There are mod kits, and then there is the Midwest Industries PC-9 Upgrade. Very well made M-Lock rail, just the right length to add your most needed accessories. The aluminum spacer is so much better than the plastic O.E. part. The bolt provides easier racking due to increased length and grip. This was the best beginning for my custom PC-9 build.

4 of 5 Heavy but fantastic August 6, 2020
Reviewer: Brad Isaacson from Santa Fe, NM United States
I purchased the original PCC9 because I loved the takedown function and portability, but it came with some deficiencies.  When Ruger came out with the tactical chassis I was obsessed with it but I didn't want to shell out another $650.  I asked Ruger if I could just purchase their chassis and fit my receiver, etc. into it.  "No, their not compatible" was their short answer.  Then I discovered the Midwest Ind. solution.  It's what I was looking for.   My only negatives are the buffer tube is low and not in line with the barrel so that you can use the low profile iron sites of the original make, which I am not a fan of.  I added the 3/4" Magpul cheek riser to a CTR stock.
With a mounted red dot  it fits best to my head and aiming comfort exactly as standard iron sights of an AR.  The only other negative (not a big deal) is the weight.  Pretty heavy setup, but I am satisfied with the whole thing as it comes (I added the muzzle break as well).  Basically I'm a 4.5-star happy camper.
