5 of 5 Great guard only 1 suggestion July 8, 2021
Reviewer: Jo-MoF1zzL3 from PF TX US
Purchased this handguard to replace the tiny wimpy guard on my Henry H010X and had the same issue as the review above. The forward bracket between the mag tube and barrel is dovetailed into the barrel and is sitting loose. This makes the front of the guard loose and sloppy with a few mm side to side. I don't want to epoxy anything to the barrel and was wondering if there was a way to get a replacement bracket made that has a locking set screw to lock it down into the dovetail groove or just cut it out and use a clamp bracket like the one for the marlin guard with barrel band part# MI-MAR336A or if that part will work on the Henry H010 series at all to do the same function.

4 of 5 Hi-tech Redneck! February 28, 2019

The product build and quality is second to none.  Installation of the part is very easy.  No fault of the part, but the disassembly of the Henry is a pain.  Knowing what I know now, I would suggest to those that do this on their own simply cut the stock Henry hand guard off and cut the retention piece off.  Otherwise you have to pull the whole gun apart, remove the ammo tube, etc.  once your past that, installation is very easy.  The last thing I would suggest during installation is to use a little epoxy on the mount that goes between the barrel and tube.  If you don’t, that piece can slide sideways and make it feel like your new sexy grip isn’t mounted firmly.  Alternatively, a slight product enhancement on on this part would be to machine it so it holds closer to the barrel and tube so that you don’t get the back and forth slop.
